I found this in a magazine. This disgusts me. What I got out of it was that if you have acne, the person you love is going to break up with you. This advertisement is pathetic. This is a perfect example of what our society is like these days. This makes people think that they have to have perfectly clear skin or else they will never be in a relationship. I’ve dealt with bad acne and I do treat it but this is seriously horrible.

This is disgusting. I’ve seen a lot of objectification and body shaming before, but this is a whole new level of fucked up.

Her acne contributed to a “loss” in her confidence, so he left her? What kind of fucked up relationship is she supposed to be chasing? Oh yeah, the one where the self esteem of women* is balanced solely on outward appearance and in meeting unrealistic standards in order to maintain a~~n even unhealthier~~ relationship.

I wouldn’t go so far as to call this victim blaming, but look at how easy a leap in logic it is to say that maintaining appearance = maintaining relationship, therefor maintaining an “acceptable” appearance = not being targeted for harassment or assault.

Men also have no problem violating women’s bodies while they wear a niqab, hijab and burqa, some of the most covered form of clothing. So basically, what the fuck makes you think clothes have anything to do with it?
